Kristoff, Conason on the Attack, Waiting for the Rest of the MSM

We would like to remind you that there is so much news coming out of the Libby trial that we are referring readers of this e-mail alert network to stay abreast by going to our parent site, BuzzFlash.com.

But we would also like to again re-emphasize that the narrow focus of perjury by Libby in the legal trial should not obscure the much larger issue. From evidence that has emerged, it is clear that both Cheney and Bush were aware of the orchestrated assault on Joe Wilson -- and condoned and sanctioned it.

The mainstream press seems hardly to have caught on to the significance of this yet, with few exceptions.

Nicholas Kristoff and Joe Conason have written excellent pieces asking Cheney to come clean, and Conason adds Bush to the list.

Of course, for Cheney and Bush to come clean would be admitting to the betrayal of the American public, lying, the betrayal of our national security, lying us into a war with Iraq -- and much more.

For that, they would probably end up not just being forced from office, but doing jail time.

So don't expect any confessions soon.
