Libby Seeks Probation in CIA Leak Case

May 31, 2007

In The Forbes news story, Libby says he wants probation for his role in lying about the Valerie Plame case.

Not surprising, prosecutors want Libby to serve up to three years in prison.

Libby's lawyers cited numerous letters from former colleagues and friends, saying Libby deserved only probation.

One of the more amazing quotes comes from Libby's attorneys: "His dedication to promoting freedom abroad and keeping American citizens safe at home is beyond question."

How exactly do you do that when you uncover an undercover CIA agent who works in weapons of mass destruction?
