Libby Becomes Inmate No. 28301 - 016

Scooter Libby got another "nickname" today: federal inmate No. 28301-016.

Libby got his new "identity" for being convicted in March of lying and obstructing an investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity.

The assignment of the number is one of the initiation steps by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons on the road to prison.

Like the name Scooter, inmate numbers stay with prisoners even after their release.

So hello #28301-016, welcome to the prison system.You've earned it.
